Smash Burger Tacos
Share
Smash burger tacos are one of our family's favorite quick dinners. They're fast, simple, and easy to serve with everyone's favorite toppings.
Ingredients
- Larson Angus Beef ground beef, about 2½ oz. per taco
- Beef tallow, for the griddle
- Small flour tortillas
- Sliced cheese
- Shredded lettuce
- Chopped pickles
- Avocado, chopped
- Burger sauce
- Diced tomatoes (optional)
- Any other toppings you enjoy
Instructions
Prepare the beef. Gently form the ground beef into small balls, about 2½ oz. each, without overworking it. You can also use premade patties.
Heat the griddle. Heat a flat-top griddle and lightly grease it with beef tallow. Place the beef balls on the hot surface and set a small flour tortilla on top of each.
Smash. Use a burger press or sturdy spatula to press firmly on each tortilla, flattening the beef into a thin patty.
Cook the beef. Cook for 1 minute, press once more, then leave undisturbed for 2–3 minutes to develop crisp edges.
Flip and add cheese. Flip so the tortilla is against the griddle. Add cheese and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until the tortilla is crisp and the beef is cooked through.
Add toppings and serve. Remove from the griddle and add burger sauce, lettuce, pickles, avocado, optional tomatoes, and any other toppings you like. Serve immediately.
